Who am I

I am a graduate student at McGill Space Institute, working in the research group led by Prof. Daryl Haggard. Our group has a diverse research interests, including multi-messenger Astrophysics, gravitational wave source, globular clusters, super massive black holes and galactic centers.

I grew up in Nanjing, China, while Montreal has become my second home since I moved here in 2011. I did my undergraduate studies in McGill University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2016. After graduation, I worked as a junior Mechanical Engineer in a lighting company, LumenWerx, where I gained valuable experience in product design and supply chain management. I went back to academia in 2018 as a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, worked on research projects related to Aerodynamics of wingtip vortices and graduated with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2020. At that time, I made a change of course and decided to learn beyond the scope of Earth's atmosphere, towards stars and the universe. Working towards a PhD in Astrophysics, I am currently studying star formation efficiency near the centers of galaxies, focusing on bulges and nuclear rings. I have lots of experience analyzing observational data across optic to radio wavebands (SITELLE at CFHT, ALMA, VLA, and a little bit JWST).

Apart from work and study, I enjoy exploring all sorts of beauty through science, art, food and nature. Here is my personal album:
